there are sprays for the yard, I have not tried them. I also lived in florida for many years, about 2 hrs south of tampa. On my dogs I used (and still use) K9 advantix; it protects from fleas , ticks and mosquitoes. one application usually lasts about a month. yes, they will pick up more fleas outside but the advantix will continue to kill them off and any you have in the house. When the fleas start coming back its time to give them another dose. they make advantage for cats also.

Hi...love this group, though I don't post much because I need help more than I can give help! lol. Anyway, I live in the Tampa area on 3 acres. We have an outside dog and an indoor cat. My question is this. Is it possible to actually treat the outdoors for fleas on acreage this big? We also have 2 horses so I would love some ideas that would not be toxic to the horses or dog. I know fleas are voracious in Florida. I want to keep my small animals on flea meds but is it all for naught, because won't they just acquire them from outside anyway where they breed? Thank you.
